Damien Lazerus: Lazpod #11

Heres a little something for a midweek night and a couple of spliffs. Damien Lazerus's latest offereing is something of a blast from the past. Any of you who were listeners of The Breezeblock on BBC's Radio One, back in days when it was good will relish this little number.

In the words of Damien himself:

"For this show I turned out the lights in the studio, made myself a nice cup of tea, settled the cats down in the corner, pulled out some priceless old gems and pressed record.

There is no chat on this show; and no special audio trickery; just me, you and some psychedelic beauties."

Don't expect to hear any electronic music in this one. What you can expect is a journey through past psycedelic rock and soul treasures

DJmag's Marc '01' on the Yamaha Tenori-On

DJmag reviewer Marc '01' has put together this awesome demo of the Yamaha Tenori-On. Marc took advantage of all the features available to make this awesome clip in one take. The editing you see is just of the visuals, not of the sound. It sounds unlike any other Tenori-On performance because he's loaded in his own samples alongside the built-in synthesizer.

Street Fighter Battle vinyl

This one just had to go up on the old blog. Who can forget the endless days, sleepless nights and sore fingers caused by street fighter II. If you like messing around with retro samples, you need this one in the collection. Even if it was never used, it would still look good on the wall!

Rogue Element Winter Mix

the rogue element is award-winning producer and DJ Ben medcalf, whose work receives plaudits and support from such varied luminaries as James zabiela, Etienne De Crecy, meat Katie, elite force, James lavelle, the plump djs, and the crystal method.

he also consistently rocks major venues worldwide from
Europe and the united states to the far east and Australia

in addition,
Ben is one half of disco of doom with tom real, a project dedicated to all kinds of disgusting house, techno, and general electronic depravity.

Here we have his latest mix. Its a bit of a slow starter, for me it really kicks off around 11 minutes but after that its totally rippin' for most of the way

Welcome

I have decided to create a blog about my world of underground electronic music. My hope is create a popular resource of information for fans, DJs and producers alike. I myself am a DJ, sound engineer and producer with many years experience. I live and breath dance music and I want to share my knowledge with you.

One of my reasons for this is that in today's world of the digital DJ almost anyone can write a track, good or bad and release it digitally for absolutely no cost other than a computer and an Internet connection. This has led to a sea of poor dance music which every DJ and enthusiast must swim through to find the gems. However on the other side of the coin, the improvements in technology have meant there is also a wealth of amazing tunes out there.
